On the 17th July, Huddersfield Train Station played host to crowds of press & TV who came to join the a very select guest list to witness a locomotive being named after Huddersfield Town Football Club.
Our client, GB Railfreight joined up with Huddersfield Town to name the new Loco after the football club. However, there was something special! They requested the help of one special man,
a local boy, and a big Huddersfield Town supporter and he accepted.
Sir Patrick Stewart aka Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek or, Professor Charles Xavier from the X-men, the man who has graced our screens for years was there to unveil the plaque and he was not the only celebrity there. We were also joined by Football Legend Ray Wilson – England’s left back in the 1966 World Cup winning team. Local dignitaries and notables where also there to enjoy Sir Patrick’s address and of course, the blistering sunshine.
